Internet Marketing and SEO

Have you ever seen any email offers of getting you to the top of search engines guaranteeing top rankings. Like anything in life there is no quick result without hard work. When it comes to designing a website it is the proper foundation principle. Like any great structure you need the foundation built for search engines.

This is one of the most crucial elements as ethical search engine optimisation takes many months to achieve any results. Search Engines do not give much preference to newer sites as they have to earn their rank. Like anything in life it needs to grow and mature. This is the ethics behind this. Following the criteria that the engines lay out in the form of a riddle. It is ours to solve.

Landing easy terms will happen quicker and the harder ones take time and also many other factors of criteria that the engines set. Because the majority of websites that are live on the internet lack ethical search engine optimization techniques they spend most of their life at the bottom of the list on major keywords in their industry. We see this all the time. It is a full-time job to be current on ethical Search Engine Optimisation that how could a web designer possibly know? Leave this to the Internet Marketing experts like us.

Most companies build a website hoping for the best but they soon experience a sour taste when it comes to the Internet. Remember your website was created to market your business NOT your business marketing your website.

Caring for your Wrought-iron Furniture

Wrought-iron furniture is very versatile and beautiful. The smooth curves and designs can really catch a person’s eye.

Surprisingly enough, wrought-iron furniture is very easy to care for.

Check with your supplier to find out if the furniture piece is primarily for use indoors, outdoors, or both and as to the type of finish, if any, that is on your furniture.

For most indoor and powder-finished furniture:

1) Use a regular rag and wash with a mild dish detergent soap and warm water.
2) Always make sure to rinse and dry your furniture thoroughly.
3) On wrought iron with smooth finished, non-matte frames, use of a paste car wax to finish is recommended.

For most outdoors wrought iron furniture:

1) The frames should be washed with a soft-bristled brush and using an automobile type soap. Make sure that you rinse thoroughly.
2) While washing, you should inspect for rust spots or chipping in the finish. If found, simply sand or brush away the finish in that area and repaint. A simple can of touch-up paint will suffice.
3) After cleaning, use of an automobile type wax as a finish. To save time, you could use a wash that has soap and wax mixed together and then just rinse and dry thoroughly. It’s recommended to wax you furniture twice a year.

Of course, it never hurts to cover your outdoor wrought iron furniture prior to harsh winter weather.

Yahoo! Sitemaps: Text or XML Format?

Back in September 2005, I published an article titled “Introducing Yahoo! Sitemaps” which explained how to submit a complete list of your URL’s to Yahoo! using a standard text file.

Recently however, I’ve received a couple of emails plus heard a few rumours stating that Yahoo! does not recognize a standard text file (e.g. sitemap.txt) containing a list of your site’s URL’s. These emails and rumours suggest that this file should be in HTML, XML or contain Tags.

Just to clarify…

Unlike Google Sitemaps which accepts Sitemaps in XML (Extensible Markup Language — a widely used standard for textual information exchange between applications on the Internet), Yahoo! uses a simplified version… a text file that contains a list of your site’s URL’s. Google also accepts this format in place of XML.

When creating this file, it should contain ONLY a list of your URL’s, with one URL per line… nothing more. If you have a site with hundreds or even thousands of pages, Yahoo! also recognizes compressed versions of this file (e.g. sitemap.gz).

So for example, the contents of your text file will look like this:

http://www.yoursite.com/
http://www.yoursite.com/page1.html
http://www.yoursite.com/page2.html
http://www.yoursite.com/page3.html
http://www.yoursite.com/dir/page1.html

Where I think the confusion stems, is that Yahoo! now allows you (via their submission page) to submit your feeds in a variety of formats (RSS 0.9, RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0 and Atom 0.3). The way this works is that their crawler will extract links and find pages not already discovered within your feeds.

These files will be in XML and if your feed contains a complete list of the URL’s you want indexed, then a text file is not required. However and if you want Yahoo! to know about all your pages, then a standard text file should be used, containing nothing more but a list of your URL’s, with one URL per line.

Hopefully and with Yahoo! now allowing the submission of feeds, it shouldn’t be long before you’re able to submit XML Sitemaps, just as you do with Google. In fact, submitting a XML Sitemap to Yahoo! may even work, although there is no proof to support this theory…

… In the meantime however (especially if your site is not feed enabled or if your feed does not contain all your site’s URL’s), it looks as though that you’ll have to continue to use a standard text file if you wish to submit a complete list of your site’s URL’s to Yahoo!

HD Plasmas on Lay-Away? You’re Kidding Me!

While browsing the internet for HD Plasma Televisions I stumbled on a website called MyHiDef.com. I noticed that they offered a lot of deals and services for HD products.

One thing that really caught my eye besides the great prices was a Layaway Option. This is something I could really use right now. I don’t want to use a credit card due to interest charges and with my credit this just wouldn’t work for me.

I tried the Buy it Now, Pay Later idea just to get shot down with a no. This option is nothing more then applying for credit and I don’t want to apply for any sort of credit right now…

I read the Layaway Agreement and decided to go for it. I thought why not, let’s see what happens. Especially since I’m not good at saving money and I really wanted a new HDTV. I put the amount necessary to hold my purchase for the 50″ Plasma TV Starter Special and proceeded to pay my monthly installments. The shipping and warranty cost was included with the Layaway, so no worrying there…

Wow, was I impressed. No problems and great customer service. They delivered and setup my television for me and gave me a training session on how to operate my new system which also included the Dazzle Photo Viewer, and a Gateway Surge Protection System.

I have to mention this about the company; included with your order is a 3 year warranty featuring in home service with no deductible. Also they don’t just offer HD Plasma TV’s for Layaway you can purchase other Bundle Deals using this option as well.

Now that I have told my friends and shared this information with you I’m sure that MyHiDef Layaway Option will really catch your eye too……I can definitely say I’m planning on making another purchase.

3 Steps to Selling More With Your Web Site

“What’s the most important function of your web site?”
Most small business owners will explain, “To tell people about myself and my services.” This sounds like the right answer, and it’s the one I hear most often. But it’s wrong!

Build a web site focused on yourself or your products and it is doomed to fail from the start. No matter how hard you work to promote it or make it look impressive, it won’t pay for itself, ever.

What is the primary purpose of a web site? Keep reading to find out.

There are 3 key steps in the web marketing process.
Understand the purpose of each and you’ll be able to bring in more new business with your web site. You need to attract prospects, convert them into qualified leads and then convert leads into clients.

The problem for most people is that despite their best efforts to collect thousands of leads, they only end up with a few clients. Sound familiar?

Your marketing is like New York City’s water system. In upstate New York they use reservoirs to collect rain. This water is then piped down to New York City and finally when apartment dwellers turn on the tap, they’ve got clean drinkable water. The only problem with this system is that for every ten gallons of rain that falls into the reservoirs the city only receives eight to nine gallons of water.

What happens to the missing gallon or two of water? It’s lost through an antiquated leaky piping system.

Is the same thing happening or worse with your marketing?
Are you losing the majority of your prospects due to an antiquated marketing and follow-up system?

If you are, don’t despair. There is a simple solution. You can use the 3 key steps below to help you plug the leaks in your marketing system and get new business pouring in.

The 3 key steps to improving your web marketing

1. Get More People to Your Site

Your first objective is to get the greatest number of people to visit your site. If you use pay-per-click ads such as Google Ads, take a look at your clickthrough rate.
Are you getting at least 1.5 to 2% of the people who see these ads to visit your site? The purpose of any and all of your web advertising is to get people who might be interested in your services to visit your web site.

If your ads don’t prompt at least 1.5% of viewers to respond, test alternative headlines and subheads. You’ll have the most success with headlines and subheads that focus on your prospects’ problems and concerns.

In my experience with my own sites and my clients’ sites, changes in the wording of headlines and subheads makes a huge difference in response rates. You can double the number of people who click on your ads - and double the number of potential clients visiting your web site - by changing a few words in your ads.

2. Convert More Web Site Visitors to Leads

Let’s say a hundred people a day visit your web site. How many leads do you generate? With the right copy (headlines and text), sales offer, and page layout, you could motivate 15 to 25% of the people who visit your web site to contact you. Instead of a handful of inquiries from site visitors each week, you could have dozens.

At the beginning of this article, I asked my client John what the main function of his web site is. This is it.

> The primary purpose of your web site is to get the greatest number of visitors to email you or call you with their contact information.

Your site may be the best looking site in the world, but if it doesn’t motivate your prospects to contact you, you’ve lost them and won’t get their business.

Few people buy products and services the first time they visit a web site. Most look at dozens of options. Unless your site is as well known as aol.com or amazon.com, your prospects won’t remember your site’s URL ten seconds after they leave for another site.

Before another prospect leaves your site and forgets your business, start using your free offer and your site layout to prompt at least 10-20% of all site visitors to contact you.

3. Convert More Qualified Leads to Clients

If you’ve taken the first two steps above, you’d have more people responding to your ads and more people contacting you. You’ve probably guessed; the next step is to follow up and convert the greatest number of prospects to clients.

Depending on the type of business you’re in, your follow up process may include a phone call, a mailing, a series of emails, or some combination of these. Whichever system you use, you want to increase the percentage of people who buy your products and services. It sounds obvious to both you and me, but this is where 80% of new business is lost.

Is your web marketing system leaking more than New York City’s water system?

Take this Quick Quiz

1. Is the clickthrough rate for your pay-per-click ads 1.5% or better?
Yes - No

2. Do 15 to 20% of all unique visitors to your site contact you?
Yes - No

3. Do you have an automated system for following up with leads generated from your web site that generates sales from 4% or more of your prospects?
Yes - No

If you answered “No” to one or more of these, you’re in the same boat as most business people on the web. Your web marketing is full of leaks and with a few changes you could be collecting a lot more leads and converting more of them to clients. Discover how to get a better response to your ads, get more people to contact you.
Your sales could skyrocket within weeks.

To Decorate a Loft Follow These Tips

Loft living and interior design go hand in hand, now the question, how to decorate them. Although once viewed as an economical lifestyle, loft living has become known for its luxurious lifestyle today. Numerous vacant warehouses and industrial parks have been retrofitted to create interior design showplaces. But it is possible the stress of decorating an unknown space daunts even interior designers facing the prospect of decorating a new loft home.

These are vast spaces, where the biggest problem is the industrial air that they have. Conservation effects for the features of the original equipment that took up the industrial space are aided by cold material. The brilliance of the polished cement floors help to enlarge spaces. You may choose to use different shades to stain the concrete floor to further distinguish the “spaces” of a loft. Good advice to follow is to use vivid, intense colors, but in a limited chromatic range. Bright colors such as reds, oranges, or greens can contrast the coldness of the kitchen and bathroom while enhancing the feeling surrounding lofts.

When using such color schemes, interior design recommends you use very few but large pieces of furniture in loft design. Interior designers have observed that placing an excessive amount of furniture in a loft space eliminates the sense of order and creates chaos. The loft architecture and unique style are designed to create a feeling of little time, a fast paced life, emptiness, minimal things, and an abundance of work that is part of an actual, active lifestyle.

Will My Doubts And Fears Affect My Child?

“Will my doubts and fears affect my child?” This father is concerned about his son, a high school athlete with a vision of playing professional sports. The father’s fear is that his son won’t be accepted into the ‘right’ college to be scouted by the professionals. He wanted to know:

How does your vibration, as a parent, affect your children?

Can your negative or low frequency vibration create resistance or prevent your child from attracting his or her desire?

How much influence do you have over your child’s ability to attract something they desire?

What would you tell this father?

My answer was simple: “Your vibration affects your child to the degree that he allows it.”

Now, you might think that the older the child, the stronger his or her vibration will be–that the parent’s vibration would be less influential as the child matures. However, that is not necessarily so.

Another client told me about a camping trip that her family took last summer. Picture this: mother, father and 7 year old Janice are driving in the car, through a national forest, looking for a place to set up camp. Father is discouraged and making comments like, “We’re not going to get a place to camp.” Every time he said that, little Janice said, to herself, “We ARE going to get a camping spot.” This went on for a couple of hours, as the family drove from one campsite to the next looking for an opening. Finally, Janice spoke up, rather defiantly: “Yes we ARE going to get a camping place. I just know it!” And at the very next campsite, there was a vacant site right close to the gate. My client said she was impressed with her daughter’s ability to maintain her high vibration of expectancy, while a parent was vibrating such negativity.

I have three (almost four) grandchildren. One little fellow has displayed a true stubborn streak since he was a toddler. While his independence and self-determination are sometimes difficult to live with, I realize that he is exercising his right to not let other people set his vibration…oh, no! He has his mind made up and he’s going to have his way–always! Could it be that he knows something that my generation is just learning? Maintain your own vibration!

Not all children have developed the ability to maintain a positive vibration when their parent is vibrating fear or doubt. I was able to help the father, who recognized his own negative vibration, create a Focus Wheel. Together we came up with six or seven statements which allowed him to release his fears and raise his vibrational frequency. Statements like, “Even though most sports professionals are scouted at certain Universities, it IS possible to be scouted elsewhere.” “My son has the ability to attract his desire.” “The Universe knows the BEST way to bring about the fulfillment of my son’s desire.”

10 Steps to Mentally Getting Started in Your Home Business

Starting a home business is exciting and yet fears can pop up when starting anything new. Once you’ve made the decision to take control of your future, ask yourself these questions to mentally prepare to play the game to win.

1. What do you want to accomplish?
Do you want to earn a little extra money or a six-figure income? And by when? As the saying goes, you need to know where you’re going if you’re ever going to get there.

2. Do you have your goals written out?

I know we hear this all the time, but there is something very powerful about writing out our goals and having this on paper. It keeps us focused and on track.

3. Who is your target market?

“Everyone” is not a target market. Even if most people could use your product or service, narrowing who you want to reach allows you to be more effective in your advertising messages and actions.

4. How are you going to reach your market?

Through article writing, through ezine advertising, promoting through local groups or events, offline advertising? There are dozens of ways to market your business and many will take testing to determine the best avenue for you, but have a plan on how you want to get started. Then revise as you go.

5. What is your advertising budget?

If you’re starting out on a shoestring, just know that it will take more word-of-mouth or creative ways to get your product or service in front of people. And if you have some funds for advertising, plan out how and where you can get the best value for your dollar.

6. How much time can you commit to your business each week?
Most of us have busy lives and it’s important to block out specific times to work on our business if it’s going to thrive. Remember, to be successful, you can work a home business part-time, but you can’t work it in your spare time. Spare time never happens.

7. What are the most important activities that you can do to generate revenue?
Focus on what will get you customers, other distributors or people on your mailing list. Don’t get side-tracked with excessive organizing or revising your plan for the 20th time. Determine what will get you results and go for it!

8. Do you have a mentor?
If you’re already lost on some of these steps, partner with someone in your business that is experienced and already successful. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and then follow what has proven to be successful.

9. What are you most afraid of?
Acknowledge your fears. Talk to your mentor about them. If you need more information to feel more professional, get that info, but don’t get stuck in the “student” mode. Learn the basics and then jump in. The unknown can be scary and not everyone is going to be your next customer or distributor, but the best way to conquer any fear is to walk right through it.

10. Do you expect to win?
That may seem like a strange question, but are you really expecting success or are you just “hoping” to make it? Building a home business will help you grow personally in innumerable ways, if you’re determined to succeed. If you’re coachable and willing to work on yourself, you’re embarking on a wonderful journey.

Taking a little time to answer these questions will start the creation of your initial plan. Then work with your mentor and have fun! Learn and modify as you go. Consistent, daily actions (whether big or small) will result in a strong, viable business for yourself and your loved ones.

In closing, here’s a quote from Dr. Robert Anthony. “Waiting is a trap. There will always be reasons to wait. The truth is, there are only two things in life, reasons and results, and reasons simply don’t count.” Create results!
