Ads and Slogans in Brand Management

Brand management schemes and strategies entail hard work. But perhaps nothing could be harder for those involved in advertising, what with their tasks ranging from creating and visualizing the perfect tagline and image that goes along with it to sending the whole package to persuade consumers theirs is the right brand. Creativity in this department is a must. Flexibility is also a plus. All advertisers dread the day when they will run out of good ideas to put on the billboard or to air on national television.

But what really makes an advertisement click? Is there a certain chemical formula advertising professionals must concoct so their brand will reach an elevated status in their target markets?

The advertising slogan is conceivably the first line of words any advertiser wants a consumer to read. That said, it is quite apparent and a requisite that in every billboard or newspaper ad, the slogan should be emblazoned in large print. Why so? Advertising practitioners and researchers have concluded that advertising slogans have positive effects on their brands.

Preferably, a slogan should include the brand name. Examples include “Gillette. The Best a Man Can Get,” for the Gillette brand of razors and Wike Farms Cheese’s “You’ll Wike it Too.” An advertising slogan is designed to direct consumers’ attention to a certain brand and with its wise and witty lines, make the brand memorable. On the other hand, other companies never mention their brand name but rely on public recognition to associate their product with the tagline. Nike only includes their trademark swoosh logo in their advertisement, tagged with the now popular “Just Do It” line.

There are other things to consider when making a slogan that would differentiate a brand from the others. But all in all, it’s just a matter of simplicity, originality, and recall.

Vive La France!

Oh Paris…the most romantic city in the world and one of the lovers’ favorites. There’s much more to France than Paris and its beautiful sights so reading a France travel guide before planning your trip is a good idea. You can explore the country side and try the lovely wines, you can visit the marvelous castles and learn their history or you can check out the high end resorts on Cote d’Azur. And that’s not all, to say the least.

In order to make your dream possible, firstly you need to get to France. There are plenty of flights to Europe available from various cities in the world. Make sure to plan ahead in order to benefit from good rates.

Then you need a place to stay in France . Whether you choose a high end hotel, a cheap hostel or a farm, you won’t get bored. Plan according to your budget and make the reservations ahead of time, especially if you are traveling during the high season.

Don’t worry if you don’t speak French that well. Although French are notorious for not exactly wanting to speak English, you can get by with Shakespeare’s language in all big cities. If you plan to visit the country side then you should speak French at least at conversational level.

How to Customise your Cellular/Mobile Phone

Our current choices of Cellular/Mobile handsets are really quite amazing, it seems that there is a phone to suit everyone, what ever your requirements and necessities.

The features of our phones are ever increasing and we feel somewhat comforted by the multiple uses of our handsets.

Almost everyone is sure to find a phone that will fit their needs, not just in the variety of the phones uses but also a handset that is aesthetically pleasing.

It might be the colour or the shape or even the feel of the phone or a combination of all three.

To many individuals it is as important to them to be seen with a smart phone as it is to be seen with the latest hair cut or that great pair of jeans that are a must have item of the time.

People are conscious of fashions and trends, of what they possess at the time and also of what others possess around them.

But what really makes people stand out is having something customised exactly to their tastes.

We are able to dress up our phones with accessories that will change the colours of the handset or we can add flashing accessories and a whole host of modifications to make our phone unique.

It gives us a feeling of being individual and aswell as being able to customise the hardware of the phone we find that we can also very easily customise the phone with content.

Ringtones are sounding better than they ever have, this is down to the handsets being able to handle more voices and Polyphonic Ringtones and Truetones sounding so much more pleasant compared to the ear piercing and harsh tones that used to emit from our bulky handsets years ago.

The choice of Cellular/Mobile content is enormous, with sites like www.premieringtones.com providing a constantly growing library of everything from Ringtones and Truetones to Video, Games and Screensavers to brighten up your handset.

Customising your phone can be done very quickly and with a number of options to obtain the required content means that it will take up very little time of anyone’s day.

The fun part is that you get to show off to the world, well at least your friends and family, the unique looks and sounds of your Cellular/Mobile phone, and if you get bored of the Ringtone on your phone it is just a case of taking a look at the huge amount of content available and in no time your handset will be feeling like brand new again with the great sounding Tones available or Games to keep you occupied or what ever you choose.

The future looks even brighter for the Cellular/Mobile world with new technologies always in the pipeline ensuring that we will all have new features and new ways of upgrading and customising our handsets.

Changing our phones appearance both inside and out is just a matter of choosing what we like best and what we feel says something about us personally.

We are all unique and we like to show that in our lives when ever possible, the good thing is that the choice for us is huge, all we have to do is choose.

Make Up Tips for Photography

Photography make up is slightly different from daily make up applications. Here are some pointers -

Lighting:

  • Use natural lighting - for example, near a big window with lights coming in

  • If photography is taking place outdoors, do so around 4pm to 5pm, when the sun is about to set. Soft lighting makes a person better

Preparing the face:

  • Wash, exfoliate, tone and moisturize your face before applying make up

  • Oil control is very important. If you can, use oil free formulated products

  • Keep hair away from the face

  • To reduce puffy eyes, use Preparation H

Foundation:

  • Choose a thicker formulated foundation rather than the sheers ones that are used in daily applications so that all blemishes are covered easily

  • Blend foundation from chin to neck so that they are of the same colour

Powder:

  • Use lots of it, and reapply between shots, to create a mat finish look

Concealer:

  • 2 shades lighter than skin to cover blemishes and dark spots; apply before foundation application

Contouring:

  • Contour cheeks and eyes to create a sculpted look

  • Use foundation in a shade that is 2 to 3 shades darker than normal skin tone

Eyes:

  • Highlight eyebrow bones using light shadow to create lively eyes

  • Avoid eyeshadow that is too frosty or shimmery - it’ll appear shiny

  • Apply eyeliner with precision

  • Use waterproof mascara

  • Overall application needs to be than normal make up

Lips:

  • Use lipstick and liner of same colour, in a shade darker than natural lip colour

My Hebrew Learning Experiences over the Last 10 Years

by Neal Walters I first had interest in learning Hebrew in about 1990 when planning to go to Israel. Due to the Desert Storm and the Gulf War, the trip was postponed (I finally made it in 1996). So in the late 1980s, how does one go about learning Hebrew in the middle of Oklahoma? Via a language catalog (there was no internet then), I discovered the FSI courses. I had used FSI for Brazilian Portuguese, and thus ordered it for Hebrew. At least Portuguese used the same alphabet as English, but Hebrew required learning 22 new characters, and reading at first was very slow. Back then, the FSI course included a large book and about 24 cassette tapes (today, you can find the book in PDF and the tapes are often on MP3 files). The course was designed for instructor-lead classroom use, and was definitely not designed for home-study. To this day, I have never finished that course. Back then, Borders was building it’s first huge book stores in large cities. On a business trip, I visited one, and found a small selection of Hebrew books not normally found in other bookstores. The book that helped me master the alphabet was a “reader” that was full of practice exercises of reading short two to four letter syllables or words. Attending synagogue and learning some of the Hebrew prayers really accelerated my understanding of Hebrew. The music, along with the weekly repetition, clearly helps with the learning the words and phrases. Each week, I would pick a favorite tune, and go home and break down the words of that particular prayer. I used Menahem Mansoor’s “Biblical Hebrew: Step by Step” to get an introduction to Biblical Hebrew. A few years later, a friend taught Biblical Hebrew to a small group using Jacob Weingreen’s “A Practical Grammar for Classical Hebrew”. This is a very serious book, which we finished a couple of years later, doing one lesson every week or two. For Modern Hebrew, I remember using “Hugo Language Course: Hebrew in Three Months” and also Eliezar Tirkel’s “Every Hebrew”. Both came with a book and 3 or 4 cassettes. I like the Hugo course slightly better. Eventually, in 2005, I took two semesters of “online” modern Hebrew from college in Boston. We used the “Hebrew From Scratch” textbook, and met online with our professor once per week. In 2008, via the same school, I took “Introduction to Talmud” and began learning my first Aramaic. Unfortunately, I still can’t speak Hebrew as well as I would like. My journey is still continuing. By creating software, and teaching others, I continue to learn each and every day. Children and adults both learn Hebrew the fast and easy way with the multimedia Hebrew courses created by Neal Walters. You can see video demos of his courses at http://HebrewResources.com. Happy Birthday to You!

Your days will be long and fruitful. Just everybody loves your pants off and wants to be around you. Use this to your advantage by making business deals and getting discounts on used cars. Today will be a happy one for you because you were born on this very day.

ARIES The Ram, March 21 to April 20: You like to get out there with the boys, tramping through the woods, quickly understanding the flora and the fauna, making quick-witted remarks about tree fungus, jumping up and down with joy when you see a porcupine. You take unnecessary risk and get angry when your fellow traveler looks at you like you’re nuts. You like to jump too-wide creeks. Beware of your powers and don’t step in the deer poop. Go to http://www.astrology-online.com/aries.htm.

TAURUS The Bull, April 21 to May 21: You like to sit under the Yum Yum tree waiting for the world to bring you what you need. Unfortunately, the world doesn’t know you are there. Get up, grab that stranger, and show your loving persistent self. Hide that piece of cake under the sofa pillow until your guest leaves so you can eat it all by yourself. Don’t call your mother and tell her that you love her even if it has been 17 years since you last saw her. Keep her stewing a bit longer. Every day turn your head the other way when you walk past her house. Go to http://www.astrology-online.com/taurus.htm.

GEMINI The Twins, May 22 to June 21: Don’t miss that party tonight. No party? Well, get on the telephone and invite the whole town. Get a band and show your youthful eloquent self. Now don’t go off in the corner and say you can’t do this on such short notice. And, damn, get rid of that new wig. It’s not helping your appearance. Something special is going to happen tonight. Don’t you want to know what it is? It will happen at the party (if you invite me). Go to http://www.astrology-online.com/gemini.htm.

CANCER The Crab, June 22 to July 22: It’s over! You’ve got to let go. Let up on your conscious tomorrow. That deal is there for your taking. But don’t let the buggers grind you down. A night on the town with your partner is appropriate tomorrow night. You will have something to celebrate. Let go of my coat. No crying! Go to http://www.astrology-online.com/cancer.htm.

LEO The Lion, July 23 to August 22:It’s time to expand those grandiose plans. Don’t forget China. Stick your nose into your friends business. See if you can’t come up with something for yourself. I know how you’ve been looking at you-know-who. Let yourself go. President Bush is not an idiot. Go to http://www.astrology-online.com/leo.htm.

VIRGO The Virgin, August 23 to September 23: You don’t have to dust after your spouse has already dusted. I know your partner has a mole on the neck. It doesn’t matter. Take a walk in the park today and don’t over analyze the squirrels. They do what they do. I’m sorry that Reagan’s son is a Democrat. Go to http://www.astrology-online.com/virgo.htm.

LIBRA The Scales, September 24 to October 23: Easy on the Butter Brickle Ice Cream; you must watch your figure or you won’t get to first base with “Dimple Cheeks.” Today would be a good day to take a stroll through the county history museum. Offer to volunteer if they will pay you a good hourly wage. I’m telling you again; the tooth fairy doesn’t come when you’re over 12 years of age. Go to http://www.astrology-online.com/libra.htm.

SCORPIO The Scorpion, October 24 to November 22: Remember your childhood dream for success? Now is the time to move full speed ahead. For gosh sakes don’t tell anybody about it until you are sure your dream will come true. You don’t want those slime balls stealing your idea do you? I know how you can get even with Harry; put catsup on his hotdog. Go to http://www.astrology-online.com/scorpio.htm.

SAGGITARIUS The Archer, November 23 to December 21: How are you coming on your dissertation on the Red-bellied Green Tree frogs of Korea? No, I don’t think you will be able to convert it to a novel, but knowing you, you will. Stop calling your sister, El Elefante. You know how that hurts her-or do you? When you recover, don’t use your homemade pole for pole vaulting again. Next time you might find that pole sticking out your back (just a joke). Go to http://www.astrology-online.com/sagittar.htm.

CAPRICORN The Goat, December 22 to January 20: Entropy isn’t everything. Come out of it. I heard that one, pretty funny. You’ve found seven new ways to solve Rubik’s Cube? You’re working on a new one? I’ll drop by later. It’s time to go to http://www.astrology-online.com/capricrn.htm.

AQUARIUS The Water Carrier, January 21 to February 19: What’s that you’re working on; a soft-boiled egg de-sheller? Interesting! No more yellow fingers. My mother is fine. She’s your mother too. Why don’t you call her? Yes, I gave to the Salvation Army. Go to http://www.astrology-online.com/aquarius.htm.

PISCES The Fishes, February 20 to March 20: You can come out from behind the couch now. I want you to go to Newark with me today; now put on your cinnamon outfit with your orange baseball hat and hiking shoes. That’s the way! You gave your toothbrush to a vagrant? Well, use your finger. Go to http://www.astrology-online.com/pisces.htm.

Bill Clinton Second Political Term

Second Presidential Term: In the 1996 presidential election, Clinton won by receiving 49.2% of the popular vote. While Bob Dole received 40.7% and Ross Perot only received 8.4%. Clinton then became the first democrat to be re-elected since Franklin Roosevelt. It was during the second term as president, that a new scandal began to surface. For Clinton had been accussed of having a sexual relationship with a young intern named Monica Lewinsky. Along with other allegations of sexual misconduct. Although Clinton denied any such actions, he paid an out of court settlement to $850,000 to Paula Jones concerning a lawsuit for sexual harassment. The lawsuit was also the basis of the impeachment proceedings against Clinton. To the belief that Clinton lied about his relationship with Lewinsky, the republican controlled House voted to impeach Clinton. Making him the second president to be impeached after Andrew Johnson. In 1998, the House held impeachment hearings on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. The House Judiciary Committee ended in a straight party line vote. The two charges were passed. The Senate later voted to acquit Clinton of both charges. There were four notable events that have occured during Clinton’s tenure as president. Both military and foreign. The most noted was in 1993, the Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia. In which two BlackHawks were shot down, trapping U.S. soldiers behind enemy lines. This resulted in a rescue attempt and an urban battle that resulted in having 18 American soldiers killed 73 wounded and one taken prisoner. Another event, in 1998 was the Operation Desert Fox. The U.S. launched a four day bombing campaign mid December. Then there was in 1999 being a conflict in Kosovo. Clinton authorized the use of American troops serving alongside with the NATO forces, in a bombing campaign called Operation Allied Force in June. In 2000, Clinton became the first American president to visit Vietnam since the end of the Vietnam War. Who is bill Clinton had remained popular with the public during both terms, with an approval rating of 65%. The highest of any president to date for end of term approval. Since Clinton’s departure from the white House, he has been kept busy with various speaking engagements as well as publications of two best sellers. His books are “My Life” published in 2004 and “Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World” in 2007.

Control Your Own Destiny

“You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.”
-Brian Tracy

In order to make choices that may change your destiny, you must first know yourself and what you are creating moment by moment. What you do in the present moment brings you closer to being in command of your destiny. When you focus on past experience and the knowledge you’ve gained from school, work, society, economic, and spiritual training, you can begin to know yourself.

Human nature is created so that you can choose your destiny, and then control it. The key is to be one of the few who know where you are going and exactly how to get there. To do this, you must realize that life is changeable. With each change along the way you develop experience. You enrich your learning.

Since your life is always in a constant state of creating and developing, you create your own story by choosing the direction you want it to take. With any one decision, you can change your destiny. You have the power to do this: it is called making choices. Without it you’d just be following the masses and letting others control your destination.

The repetition of certain thoughts also plays a huge part in determining your destiny. This is why it’s most important to be aware of what and how you think. Some thoughts that may bear repeating include:

  • To always show positive feelings toward others. Negative thoughts and feeling are limiting.
  • To know you’re smart even if it takes you a little longer to understand a point.
  • To know that failures can lead to success.
  • To welcome problems - they are learning tools.
  • To know that there is untapped skill and creativity in everything you attempt.
  • To remember that God put you on earth to win.
  • To know that prosperity comes to those who believe it will happen.
  • That giving quality service to your customers may result in a quantity of customers.
  • To know that valuing your own self and making a commitment to excellence is worth striving for.
  • To treat others with respect and kindness is a measure of your spirituality.

And as you keep these thoughts uppermost in your mind, you have the power to be guided by them. Yet, just knowing without thinking how you respond to life is the art of self-awareness and living in the present moment. Being aware of each moment is a part of your true being

Other ways to measure the power of your thoughts is to limit any thoughts that are non-productive. Some of these non-productive thoughts may include:

  • Feeling guilty when you say, “No.” Refusing to cater to the demands of others is not a selfish act. Saying, ‘yes, when you mean ‘no’ may cause resentment.’
  • Feeling ’stupid’ when you don’t understand something - Rather then make a mistake when instructions are not clear, don’t be afraid to ask for clarification. This is a sign of good judgment.
  • Thinking that everything you do is solely your own doing. Be confident and have enough faith to know that your life is guided by a higher power. This confirms your spirituality.
  • Ignoring opportunities to change - Growth comes with change. Life is a constant state of change. Be ready for any worthwhile challenge or opportunity to grow.
  • Worrying - Some of the best opportunities are missed when you worry and procrastinate until the opportunity has come and gone. Learn to be decisive. What’s the worst possible scenario? How hurt would you feel if you missed a great opportunity?

Whatever you do, and wherever you are in life, pay attention to your thoughts. Any sign of negativity, anger, fear, or procrastination is harmful. Get rid of biased opinions. Be open to other ways of thinking. Make the best of your thoughts and your thoughts will make the best you.

Then, let your new founded self-awareness lead you to a life where you are free to choose and to control your own dreams and goals. That’s your destiny.

The Cell Phone To Be Seen With

There is little doubt that Motorola’s Razr cell phone is the ultimate fashion accessory. A member of what is termed by those in the know as the camera clamshell phones, the Razr is only half an inch thick, making it one of the most totable phones around. No wonder it was included in the exclusive gift bags given to the crme de la crme of celebrity icons at the 77th Academy Awards.

But fashion is a notoriously fickle thing, given to the most capricious of whims, and the cell phones currently deemed by those in high places to be in vogue are no exception to this steadfast rule. Upon its first release, the Razr cell phone was marketed, and priced, as an exclusive item, but as with most other high fashion pieces, its fascination has diminished over time. There is little doubt that the slender silhouette of the Razr makes it extremely easy to carry around, but as time has told so many times before, practicality has no place in determining what is deemed to be of the moment.

And yet, it is not high fashion that keeps the world turning, at least not entirely. In a world where money is the root of pretty much everything, a Razr cell phone that has fallen in price to reach the budgetary limits of the vast majority of cell phone users is going to be a popular thing. The rest of the world might lag behind high fashion, but to the humble masses, the Motorola Razr cell phone is still cool.

Available in a range of colors, and with that slender signature look, there’s little enough that makes it un-cool. Black, silver, blue and pink tones make this a phone that will stand out. And for those with social consciences, the Razr is a phone that cares - a portion of the proceeds from the pink variety will find their way toward the important pockets of breast cancer charities.

So while the Razr was not the cell phone of choice at this year’s Oscar celebrations, this slender cell phone remains an object of lust for many. And rightly so - with its sleek lines and cool wide screen, the Razr is likely to be a popular choice in the cell phone market for several seasons to come.

Dave is the owner of myrazrskins.info and motorolarazrfreeplan.info websites that provide information on the Razr.
