A Very Worthwhile Set of Resources on Typography
happy cog
http://www.happycog.com
Happy Cog is one of my favorite design firms and is located in NY. They are one of the most influential website design firms in the usability space.
webstock
http://www.webstock.org.nz/
Similar to Happy Cog, this site simply makes it’s type choices work well together. I really enjoyed their font selection and how they offset the script logo with a serifed headline treatment.
brian fidler interactive
http://www.brianfidler.com
If you love typography, this site does a great job of injecting playfulness into it’s type through animation. Phoenix Web Designer Brian Fidler created this site almost 8 years ago, and as far as Flash sites go, it has stood the test of time.
A Brief Message
http://abriefmessage.com/
This site is an interesting site that posts short messages on design. They have done a nice job utilizing SIFR to replace headlines with a slab serif font with the specific font encapsulated in a dynamically created Flash movie.
Typographica
http://new.typographica.org/
This site breaks down typefaces, providing detailed information such as the face’s history and how it can be used. Typographica.org showcases many typefaces and helps designers understand their appropriate uses, history, etc.. Typographica shares this information in a very easy to read format.
Typography Served
http://www.typographyserved.com
One more gallery of excellent typographic samples. This site also provides links to its sister sites; fashionserved.com, industrialdesignserved.com, motionserved.com, and photographyserved.com which all provide the same gallery approach but for design examples in a different genre. I love looking at the gallery using the ‘most appreciated’ filter.

To Decorate a Loft Follow These Tips
Loft living and interior design go hand in hand, now the question, how to decorate them. Although once viewed as an economical lifestyle, loft living has become known for its luxurious lifestyle today. Numerous vacant warehouses and industrial parks have been retrofitted to create interior design showplaces. But it is possible the stress of decorating an unknown space daunts even interior designers facing the prospect of decorating a new loft home.
These are vast spaces, where the biggest problem is the industrial air that they have. Conservation effects for the features of the original equipment that took up the industrial space are aided by cold material. The brilliance of the polished cement floors help to enlarge spaces. You may choose to use different shades to stain the concrete floor to further distinguish the “spaces” of a loft. Good advice to follow is to use vivid, intense colors, but in a limited chromatic range. Bright colors such as reds, oranges, or greens can contrast the coldness of the kitchen and bathroom while enhancing the feeling surrounding lofts.
When using such color schemes, interior design recommends you use very few but large pieces of furniture in loft design. Interior designers have observed that placing an excessive amount of furniture in a loft space eliminates the sense of order and creates chaos. The loft architecture and unique style are designed to create a feeling of little time, a fast paced life, emptiness, minimal things, and an abundance of work that is part of an actual, active lifestyle.

Teak garden Furniture for your garden
If you are having garden furniture put in your garden, then there are varieties of choices available to you. First you will have to decide whether you are looking for a permanent or temporary style of garden furniture. If you are looking for a permanent garden furniture that will stay with you for many years, then your choices are more limited. You will have to take into account the fact that weather will degrade your furniture as it becomes in contact repeatedly with weather elements such as rain, hail, snow, hot and extreme cold etc. All of this can damage your furniture especially over time. However if you choose Teak garden Furniture, then you can be assured of longetivity in your garden furniture.
In essence teak is made from hardwood and thus it is much more resilient than normal wood furniture. Furthermore, Teak is wood in essence so it is not prone to rust and corrosion like metals. And unlike plastic furniture, teak furniture will be strong and it won’t break under the slightest pressure or under the ravages of the wind. Thus for the sake of longetivity and for safety teak garden furniture will be your best bet. In addition, teak will give a look of aristocratic grace to your garden.

Fashion design vocational schools
Fashion design vocational schools teach the nuts and bolts of fashion design in two year programs. Attendance at a fashion design vocational school gives students the opportunity to earn certificates or an Associate of Arts degree in this field. As a result of being closely allied to the garment industry, many industry leaders are of the opinion that vocational training schools provide superior preparation to that of the four year institutions.
Vocational schools usually offer two tiered programs that go along with an Associate of Arts degree. Normally, first level certificates are only available to those who wish to enter the field as quickly as possible. An exciting assortment of tasks and duties accompany employment as an assistant in a bustling design room.
To increase your chances at landing an Assistant Designer position, you may want to consider taking the extra time to complete a second level certificate of proficiency. Assistant directors are usually required to draft flat sketches of garments, including all required production details. It is worthy to understand fabric construction, its behavior, and maintain the ability to order fabric and trims. Your personality should allow you to be adaptable to change and impeccably handle several duties at once.

Choosing the Right Fashion Design School
The key to picking the right school begins with a definitive self-assessment: One may have a lot of talent and even their own special design style, but without proper structured training, your abilities will likely remain underdeveloped. Don’t downplay the importance of contacts that you make during college.
The school you attend greatly determines your career success. There are some major considerations to take into account when choosing a fashion design school.
- Cost: Maintain quality while staying under budget, remember that altough price is very important it’s not everything.
- Area of specialization: Choose wisely your area of specialization, because you will be a better designer if your school focuses on your field of specialization.
- Curriculum: You want to know how the different schools you’re considering compare to each other in terms of courses offered. Invest some time here, you won’t regret it.
- Ratio of Instructor to Students: A small class is most preferable, in a chosen school, since each student will receive more individual attention.
These are only four of the many points to think about when you are deciding on a fashion design school. As we have suggested, do your research and the best place for you will soon become evident.
