How to Get Rid of Errors and Speed up Your Notebook

Do you wait longer and longer in front of your notebook because it is getting slower and slower?.

If your Windows Registry contains a lot of outdated entries, you’ll end up with a very slow PC

Windows Registry is an important file on your windows operating system and it contains a lot of information about your laptop. E.g. where are software installed, which DLL files are shared among the installed sofware, short cuts in you Windows start menu and on your desktop.

windows registry will record allmost every event that happens on your Windows Computer. This could be the position of the files that you have used recently, it could also be information about currently installed programs and programs that have been uninsatlled again.

Many things can cause a PC to become slow, and they can hit any PC.

A professional tool can make your computer fast again.

A professional solution normally follows these steps:

  • The tool scans you PC and detects the errors on you Windows operating system (e.g. Windows XP, Vista and 7).
  • Reparing the errors
  • Your Windows PC will now be much faster, and its boot time will be shorter as your Windows operating system no longer has registry errors.

Additional factors that can cause your Windows PC to be slower

A cluttered Windows Registry is not the only thing that can make your computer slow

At times is it the anti virus application that is configured poorly causing your PC to be slow

The anti virus program can be configured to analize irrelevant files, this will cause the program to waste a lot of valuable CPU time.

In addition your anti-virus can be configured to not only scan your local harddrives but also all network drives.

Regular scans of your network drives takes a lot of your CPU time, the reason is that network drives are much slower than local harddrives

Normally there is hardly no risk involved in disabling network scanning in your anti-virus software

Outsourced Junk Message Filtering Means no Hardware Worries

Hosted spam-filter and/or email lets you concentrate on what is essential.

The amount of spam continues to go up and this means that a large share of an organisation’s capital resources and bandwidth are “stolen” from them. Outsourcing their e-mail to a hosted service will help them get their resources back and re-spend them on productivity.

You need the Internet for your daily activities both privately and professionally, but when a major part of it contains unwanted e-mails and malware, is suddenly is a factor that creates stress and frustration for the entire organisation from IT administrators to end users.

With the spreading of web and easily accessible and comprehensible to every age group people, the volume of spam e-mail has exponentially increased and with that, the cost of cleaning unsolicited e-mails from inboxes. Uderestimating the cost of removing junk e-mails is very common - people tend to believe that removing a spam e-mail just takes a couple of seconds. However, suddenly unwanted e-mails appear in huge numbers on a daily basis consuming valuable time and user’s concentration.

Unwanted e-mails do not just play the role of being annoying, they have a major side effect on the performance of an entire organisation ocuupying network and abusing bandwidth. Every single spam message increases bandwidth cost - worst case spam consumes more than 48% of your entire network.

A slow and ineffective network hits all businesses - from the large companies the have their own dedicated team taking care of IT securiry to small businesses, that has a smaller budget for online protection. Furthermore, governments at all levels - local and regional - have tried to implement legislation aimed at spammers, unfortunately this has not helped fight spam sufficiently as spammers are able to continue their criminal activities using the latest and most advanced technologies.

Spam e-mailers have formed their own underground community equipped with networks of hosted computers and innovative attack methods. A number of studies have shown that spam are draining financial resources and posting security threats to organizations by exposing their networks to malware, spyware and other malicious codes.

Such security threats stress the need to implement advanced spam blocking on hosted mail servers to decrease the cost of operating and protecting the internal network from collapse. Organisations can especially protect themselves better against online security issues using outsourced hosted servers and services.

One strong feature of employing outsourced hosted server is time saving as companies do not need to be worry about hardware/software integration and maintenance of installed equipments. Trained and experienced personnel keep and eye on their systems 24/7 and ensure removal of all spam before it is passed to the company’s internal network and the end users.

The responsibility removing all spam before it reaches the end users is now placed at the outsourced hosted mail server, and understanding the entire process is now much easier for less technical users.

How Are Pretexting Conducted over the Phone?

If you have noticed questionably high balances in your credit account, or bank withdrawals you did not make, chances are you were victimized by a pretexter. Pretexters gain personal and confidential telephone records by impersonating or pretending to be the client. Most pretexters do preliminary research about their victims so that they can come up with a convincing performance that will make telephone company employees give out valuable client information. How do pretexters do this? In order to acquire preliminary information, a pretexter might call a victim and pretend that he is doing a survey for a particular company. These perpetrators ask seemingly harmless questions that are actually meant to solicit personal information like a birth date, the victim’s maiden name (if married), the pet’s name, and even the number and type/s of credit card/s the victim has. Some pretexters even make an extra effort to study their victim’s manner of speaking so that they will be able to give an excellent performance. After gathering important background data, the pretexter uses the victim’s name and calls the bank. He tells the bank representative that he has misplaced his checkbook or lost his password. And since all necessary information has been verified, the bank representative obliges with the pretexter’s request. Once the perpetrator has the information he needs, he can move on to his next agenda: to squeeze the victim’s bank account and credit account until nothing is left of them. Pretexting is a serious criminal act that not only violates a person’s privacy; it can also destroy a life. So if you put a high value on your life and on all your private assets, don’t be easily fooled in giving out confidential information. Think twice, even thrice, before answering questions from strangers.

Tropical Depression and Storm Gordon is Growing

There is no doubt tropical depression and tropical storm Gordon is growing and growing; but the question remains where on Earth is Gordon going? We know he keeps on blowing and the infrared images from NOAA and NASA have him glowing but the Super Computers have no idea where exactly he is going and the data simply is not showing.

Each year meteorologists are originally baffled by Atlantic Tropical Hurricane Season storms, whether they be Tropical Depressions, Tropical Storms or even full on Hurricanes. Sometimes you have to watch them a bit and watch the surrounding weather patterns begin to interact with them. And whereas that may indeed sound easy, any experienced weather man from NOAA, The National Hurricane Center in Miami, The Weather Channel or even the scientists and research back up team from the Hurricane Hunter USAF Squadron will tell you it is far from easy to predict massive storm systems or large category storms.

Luckily for all of us our technology is nearly twice as good today as it was five years ago and it is getting better every year as research grants and monies are spent to make Hurricane Prediction more of a science than an art. I hope you will consider all this in 2006.
