Why Many People Fail to Succeed

You are never a failure until you accept defeat as permanent and quit trying. Everyone faces defeat. It may be a stepping-stone or a stumbling block, depending on the mental attitude with which it is faced.

Very rarely do we find home business entrepreneurs succeed at their first attempt. one has to learn through the school of hard knocks, before one can emerge as a champion of success.

While failure forms the foundation for the building of success, we can shorten the route to our success by learning from the mistakes of other people. A smart person does not make the same mistake twice. A smarter person will learn from the mistakes of others!

Let us examine why most people fail in their work at home business

1. Selecting the right Business

We reap what we sow. We need to find fertile land before we sow the seed of our efforts, but once we have found an opportunity that suits us, we should not uproot the seed and keep planting from one field to another. The investment of our efforts takes time to set root and give the fruits that we desire.

It is important to research the right opportunity before we commit ourselves. Many people realise all too late that the business they have got involved with is not the ideal marriage partner, but they try stick it out anyway, only to find that a divorce is inevitable down the roa ! That is why one has to exercise due diligence before selecting a work at home business, fortunately, its not as difficult as selecting a marriage partner!

If you are with a stable business that has been around for over three years, has a good compensation plan and growing membership, you should be fine.

2. Attitude

People who fail in a work at home business usually tend to have the wrong attitude. They expect to build a business without putting in the required effort. Attitude is everything. We are what we think we are. The power of positive thinking is what breeds success. Nothing is Impossible unless you think it is. The habitual inclination of your thoughts determines your talents and your personality. If you find yourself dwelling on negative thoughts, you need to think them away by replacing them with positive constructive thoughts. Success comes to people with a win win attitude, who see the opportunity in every problem.

3. Persistence

Most people give up too early. People can enter and exit a home business as and when they like because online business programs are easy to join, and most of them require no upfront investment. If you are only kicking the tires, testing the waters, then it is fine to move on if you do not feel suited to a particular business. But once you commit yourself, you should act like you have invested thousands of dollars in your business and treat your business that way. It may take a few months to even a couple of years but if you persist with the right business opportunity, you cannot fail.

Other Factors that leads to failure may be

- Wrong or misleading information

- Lack of Clear Directions

- Lack of Support from uppline

- Lack of money to invest in your business

- Lack of technical knowledge to build and manage your website

- Lack of time to run your business

- Products are not selling

- Fear of Rejection

But know this, all these are secondary reasons, or rather excuses for failure. With the right attitude and persistence, all of these factors can be easily overcome. Examine any person who has failed in an online business and you will find that either they were with the wrong company, or had the wrong attitude or lacked persistence.

Now that you know the exact recipe for failure, you should be able to create your success. The right business worked with a positive attitude will eventually lead to success when there is persistence.

Remember that failures are only stepping stones to success, if you fall a few times, just get up, dust yourself, and be on your way. When a child is learning to walk it will have to fall few times,

One has to fail, to succeed in a work at home business. With the right attitude, one cannot fail to succeed in a work at home business. Now Read that once again!

Visit the Startling Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is alleged to be the biggest occupied castles around today & the eldest in nonstop occupation (about nine hundred years). It’s one of Queen Elizabeth’s 3 official homes, and is repeatedly thought to be the Queens most liked home. The Royal flag flies over the Round Tower of Windsor Castle each & every time Queen Elizabeth the 2nd is at the residence - nevertheless, at other periods, the Union Jack flag flutters as normal.

Samuel Pepys has said Windsor Castle to be “the solitary most adored castle on the planet.” That was thought in sixteen sixty six & the same is true even now.

Windsor Castle Captivating History:

The assembly of Windsor can be found in the beginning of the seventh century Saxon village of Windlesora, where the recent day parish of Old Windsor is. The settlement of Windsor is commonly well-known as “New Windsor” - the word “new” being taken in a strictly loose way!

Windsor Castle at the outset was put up by William the Conqueror, owing to his invasion of England in ten-sixty-six. The original structure was constructed from lumber with mud fortifications. The Castle held a clear strategic position on a steep hill high above the River Thames, & was one part of a ring of fortresses surrounding the Capital, with the Tower of London, one day’s journey away, at its heart.

The Palace was soon after reconstructed in rock, & rose in value over the years. Later on Henry the 2nd made the Round Tower & the original stone outer wall. After the English Civil War, the building’s most important role became that of a royal home. The Castle has remained significantly untouched since the early nineteenth century, apart from the restoration work straight after the recent fire in 1992. Windsor Castle tours available daily from Enjoy England.

House Cleaning Business; What to Charge

This is the number one question I get on owning and running
a house cleaning business. And it’s not easy to answer directly
because it depends entirely on your marketing and business plans.

Professional marketers know a little secret most small business
owners are not aware of; most advertising is worthless. And the
reason it’s worthless is because people don’t spend the time on
their small business plan and small business marketing plan. The
information you enter in these plans define your target customer.
Without knowing who your targeted customer is, what kind of an ad
are you going to publish?

Are you also aware that not everyone is your customer? Even in
the house cleaning business, there are different types of customers
that look for the type of house cleaning business that will service
their needs. Do you know who these people are and how to attract
them?

What you charge depends on what your market will pay. Every city
in the world is different. After you define your target customer,
you need to start researching your competition to learn what they
are charging for the services they offer. It also makes a huge
difference to your target customer that you are licensed, bonded
and insured; or not.

You can now start by defining your personal hourly rate. This is
the amount you want to earn per hour. Add onto this your overhead
and you have the hourly rate for your business. How does this
compare with what your competition is charging? Can you compete
at this rate? What will make you stand apart from your competition
at this rate? Is your rate your only measure of exceeding your
competition?

If you’re going to compete in your market with only your rate, you’ll
have a hard time. There will always be someone in your area that will
consistently under-bid your quotes. You’ll need a customer benefit
to keep your target customer interested in your service.

If you’re targeting the low-end customers and lowering your rate to
get jobs, you’ll constantly need to work more jobs and acquire more
customers to keep ahead. But, if you are targeting the high-end
customers that are looking for quality and reliability, you can work
less jobs for more money.

That’s why you need your small business plan and your small business
marketing plan to establish who your customers will be and how you
will attract them. If you don’t have this information, don’t spend
a penney on advertising until you do.

Define your target customers and all your marketing will easily fall
into place and effectively bring in customers that want what you offer.

The Many Changing Colors of Feng Shui

Although many years ago it wasn’t a primary thing to go over unless I was assisting a client with a remodeling, I was not asked often about the colors they may want to use in their homes or businesses. I typically saw traditional light and pale walls and white ceilings and doors and there didn’t seem to be much of an interest in what would be “Feng Shui Colors” to implement into their spaces.

Now it is something we go over with every consultation. People I believe are more in tune with colors and not the ones Feng Shui typically consider the “best” colors through out certain parts of your home or office. I myself get confused by the contradictory books on the subject and advice of different authors. I read two recently that suggests painting your front door black. Did that rule out the former principle of painting your front door red to bring in good fortune and auspicious chi? And what about clients who wanted a regular white door because that is what they are comfortable with?

I myself in the last several years have experimented much more with colors in my own space, colors that for one reason or another would not have been chosen as a “Feng Shui Color,” but I am perfectly in tune with them and I love the feeling. I think the use of colors lifts us up and brightens us, whatever our color choices are. And although I still have some strong suggestions for my clients, I am finding they are more in tune with choosing different and non traditional colors in almost every area of their space and they love it.

As for the front door dilemma, I would like a client to use their own good taste on what would best suit their likes and dislikes. While it is true to grace an entrance way, if my client wants to use white they can always hang a colorful decoration on it. And something lovely that spells out “Welcome” as that is what you truly wish people to feel upon entering your home. I don’t believe your door has to be either red or black as the books may suggest. Isn’t it said that Good Chi follows Good People?

The controversy about Feng Shui Colors for Bedrooms wages on. Don’t use red, you are told, it is too stimulating and won’t promote good and restful sleep. Except that the lights are off when you are sleeping and I can’t find a thing wrong with a stimulating bedroom while you are awake! My advice to my clients is simply that bedrooms are shared rooms and should require both people occupying the space to agree on a color they are graced and comfortable in. There are many other ways in our bedrooms to promote the restful sleep our bodies need to restore each night and I have seen absolutely beautiful red and burgundy bedrooms where people are sleeping well and awaken completely refreshed.

I was recently asked to give a consultation at a home that was undergoing extreme renovations. As I was speaking to my clients regarding what they hoped to achieve from the consultation they made me aware that the upstairs had been primarily completed. They had allowed their children to help choose the colors for their own rooms. As I went upstairs I saw a virtual palette of colors from the open doors in the hallway. Long gone were the pale pinks, blues and greens I am used to seeing in children’s rooms and instead they had chosen brighter, richer and more vibrant colors for their bedrooms. All the children loved their rooms, slept well, did not become overactive or have any difficulties studying. They all not only loved spending time in their own rooms they had helped “design” but also felt their opinions were valued for their very own spaces.

So what then are proper Feng Shui Colors for any rooms? I have seen reds in every type of room and love it. I have seen the white ceilings done away with and loved that as well. I have seen bright bedrooms, more vibrant shades and people truly expressing who they are through their use of color and I don’t discourage it when I see the results and the way my clients are feeling.

One final thought on painting a new color: through my own mistakes, I found that light dramatically affects the colors you have chosen during different times of the day into evening. I am a huge fan of Benjamin Moore color samples and choosing a day when you can see the color you are thinking of at different times of the day and at night. That way you will get all perspectives of the color and know what your room will look like under natural and artificial lighting. And you won’t have any unhappy surprises after the job is done.

Good luck with your color choices; they reflect your state of mind, enhance your moods and make YOU feel good in every room in your space! And isn’t that what good feng shui color is supposed to do?

I Saw the Universe

I can see the cerulean blue of the skies

Or the indigo of the night

I can see the stars wink, the grin of the moon

During the changes of it’s monthly face

**

I am in awe

**

I see the sun on it’s annual trek

Alternately awakening the life in the earth

And then fading away to allow it to sleep

Until the next spring

**

I am told the Universe is “out there”

Beyond those stars, moon and sun,

Yet the power of what I can see

Is a fathoming beyond my comprehension

**

I am in awe

**

“Out there” no time, no seasons pass

No sense of age, hatred or loss exist

Only the infinity

0f the Universe

**

What IS “out there”?

What IS the Universe that has no end?

What IS the power that creates all this?

I want to see it too

**

And then I remember…..

**

I saw it once, this gift of glimpse

In the eyes of a granddaughter five minutes old

As I held her to my heart and gazed

Into the depths of eternal wisdom and love

**

It was but a moment

Before the bonds of her earthly body

Began to pull her

To her purpose of this lifetime

**

But from that instant I knew

The Universe is everywhere Love exists

Each one of us carries

The Universe in our soul

**

It is not “out there, but “in here”

And can be glimpsed in the

Eyes of a newly born child

As she shares the messsage she brings

of Universal Love.

**

I am in awe

9 Effective Headlines And Why They Were So Profitable

“The purpose of a headline is to pick out people you can interest…For the entire return from an ad depends on attracting the right sort of readers…The best of salesmanship has no chance whatever unless we get a hearing.”
- From the timeless classic, Scientific Advertising, by legendary adman Claude Hopkins

Make no mistake about it, as a copywriter or marketing professional your ability to write or identify compelling, attention-grabbing headlines that get prospects to read your ads…is one of the most valuable skills you can possess. Because the simple truth of the matter is this: You have absolutely zero chance of closing the sale unless you “get a hearing” with the prospect. So a good headline, an effective headline, should capture and hold the prospect’s attention and give you an opportunity to make your case.

How You Can Learn To Write More Effective Headlines

Whatever profession you’re in, no matter how good you are, you can become better at it by studying the methods, techniques and mechanics of people who are the best at what they do in your line of work. And this is especially true if your line of work includes writing effective ad copy. There are books and magazine articles aplenty that have word-for-word, picture-for-picture reproductions of highly successful (i.e. profitable) ads and sales letters. In virtually every case there is also expert commentary about what it was that made the ad or sales letter so effective.

With this article I humbly offer my contribution to this body of work.

1. “They Laughed When I Sat Down At the Piano…But When I Started to Play!”

The granddaddy of great advertising headlines; often imitated but rarely equaled. Is there anyone among us who has never longed for or relished an opportunity — when people doubt our ability — to prove them wrong? As the author of this ad, the late John Caples, once said: “Learning the piano is tough. You can’t sell that. But you can sell the idea of social success and overcoming whatever deficiencies you have in order to become popular.”

Plus, people love to root for the underdog as the main character of this ad so obviously is. An action-oriented headline that promises an uplifting story, we’re compelled to read further. Note also that the before-and-after angle can be effective in many headlines.

2. “A Little Mistake That Cost A Farmer $3,000 A Year”

A highly successful ad that ran in a number of farm magazines. An excellent idea of how sometimes the negative idea of offsetting, reducing or eliminating the “risk of loss” is even more attractive to the reader than the “prospect of gain.”

Barry Freed, a fellow copywriter and good friend likes to illustrate this point with the following analogy: Imagine it’s 3 o’clock in the morning and your best friend comes banging on your front door.

“Bill, Bill, wake up! I know how we can both make an extra $500 apiece today — guaranteed!” Chances are, this would be a severe test of your friendship. On the other hand, let’s say that same friend came banging on your door at 3 o’clock in the morning except this time he’s saying, “Bill, Bill, wake up! Somebody’s in your driveway stealing the hubcaps off your car!”

You wouldn’t mind that at all would you? In fact, you’d probably rush straight for the baseball bat you keep hidden behind the refrigerator…and in a matter of seconds you’d be charging out the front door, risking life and limb. All for the sake of $300 worth of hubcaps. Because that’s basic human nature. The fact is, people will fight much harder to avoid losing something they already own than to gain something of greater value they don’t presently have.

Another key factor that makes this headline successful is the attraction of the specific. Note that it wasn’t just a mistake; it was a “little” mistake. What farmer could pass up reading the copy under such a headline? What farmer wouldn’t be compelled to find out: “What was that little mistake? Am I making it too? If I am making it how much could it be costing me?”

3. “How To Win Friends and Influence People”

Yes, the title of the book was also the headline for the ad that sold a million books via mail order in less than 3 years during the latter part of the Great Depression. The key to this ad’s success is its strong basic appeal. Who doesn’t want to know how to win friends and influence people? The key words are “how to.” Without these two words the ad lacks power, punch and most importantly the promise of a benefit.

Certain words and phrases are inherently involving and attention grabbing and can be used effectively in just about any headline. Such words and phrases include:

• How To, How, Here’s

• Why, Which, Who Else, Where, When, What

• These, This, Which of These.

For better advertising results look for ways to use these and other effective words in your headlines.

4. “I’m impressed — Shell’s Caprinus R Oil 40 keeps my EMD’s in better condition than any other oil I’ve used in 20 years.”

“They say” advertising copy has substantially greater impact than “we say” advertising copy. That’s why the above testimonial quote makes a highly effective headline for this business-to-business advertising effort. Above the headline is a 4-color photo of the man who provided the quote.

He’s standing in the engine room and he’s identified as A. E. “Bud” Dacus, Chief Engineer for the company. And the first 2 paragraphs of the ad’s body copy continue in the same vein as the testimonial headline. Do you think we have some believability and credibility working here? You bet we do!

Testimonial headlines can help your ads generate a high response, particularly when they come from recognized experts in well-known companies. So be sure you stay close to your customers and regularly spend time reading the mail they send you. You just might find an excellent headline, a natural and highly believable spokesperson and the basis for a very profitable ad campaign.

5. “If you were given $4,000,000 to spend - isn’t this the kind of Health Club you’d build?”

This headline is an excellent example of a “self-incriminating” (and highly adaptable) technique for having the reader help specify what he or she would value most in such a product. The copy follows through along these lines: Surely you would put this feature into it. You would be sure that it brought you this advantage — and so on. The payoff to the ad is…we’ve already done it all for you.

Interrogative headlines help entice readers into the copy and there are many ways they can be put to effective use. Here are some more examples of effective interrogative headlines:

6. “Do You Make These Mistakes In English?”

This headline is a direct challenge made provocative and effective with the inclusion of one vital word: “these.” “What are these particular mistakes? Do I make them?” Notice also its promise to provide the reader with helpful information.

7. “Do You Do Any of These Ten Embarrassing Things?”

This headline is similar to number six as it preys on our insecurities and makes us wonder, “Which “ten” are they? Do I do any of them?” The bottom line is, “I better read and find out.”

8. “How Much Is “Worker Tension” Costing Your Company?”

Headline eight takes the same approach as number seven, this time from a business perspective. Notice the quotation marks around the words “worker tension.” Don’t they add a certain element of intrigue?

9. “Six Types of Investors - Which Group Are You In?”

And finally, headline nine appeals strongly to our innate curiosity about ourselves. How many of us, upon seeing this headline, would not want to know exactly which group we are in?

These last five headlines all have similar characteristics. One key factor is that they are all written from one primary viewpoint: “The point of you.” Each of them, in fact, contains some version of the word “you.” Case in point: Make sure you always keep your prospects and customers at the front and center of any and all advertising you do.

The Bottom Line On Headlines Is The Bottom Line

Five times as many people will read your headline as will read the body copy of your ad. How well it attracts not only readers but the right kind of readers will largely determine how well it succeeds.

In short, your ability to write or identify targeted, compelling headlines will greatly impact the response your advertising generates and, ultimately, your company’s bottom line. One easy, simple way you can hone your skills in this important area is by studying the time-tested, proven headlines of the past.

Nuggets Need Karl to Win

The Denver Nuggets (8-9) are hoping that the return of head coach George Karl can get the team back into the win column after losing their last three straight games. The Nuggets are 0-4 without Karl on the side lines. The coach missed the last two Denver games for publicly criticizing officials after a 101-92 loss to New Jersey on Monday. Karl was also suspended for the first two games of the season for attending off-season workouts at Marquette University involving a player not eligible for the draft. Assistant Scott Brooks served in his absence in all four defeats. Denver lost to the Phoenix Suns at the America West Arena on Friday 102-97. C Marcus Camby continues to have his best season as a professional as he scored season highs of 33 points and 20 rebounds. Camby recorded his eighth straight double-double. The Nuggets were happy to get Carmelo Anthony back from an ankle injury. Anthony scored 22 points but had to leave in the fourth quarter after re-aggravating the right ankle. Anthony will be missed if he is not able to play when they on the Miami Heat. The Nuggets have won their last three home meetings with the Heat, including a 104-95 victory last season in which Anthony scored 28 points.

Dwayne Wade is taking charge for Shaq-less Heat. Miami (10-6) have won three straight games, including 98-87 over Sacramento at Arco Arena on Friday. Miami is coming off back-to-back victories for the first time this season. G Dwyane Wade scored 27 points with seven assists and G Jason Williams added 20 with eight assists for the Heat, who started the trip with a 96-74 win at Atlanta on Wednesday. C Alonzo Mourning continues to fill in nicely for the Heat in Super Star Shaquille O’Neal continues to nurse his ailing ankle. Mourning blocked seven shots against the Kings and leads the NBA with 4.1 blocks per game. Miami is playing solid defense over the last five games holding their opponents to 87.6 points per game. Shaq is a week away from returning to the line up.

Tropical Depression and Storm Gordon is Growing

There is no doubt tropical depression and tropical storm Gordon is growing and growing; but the question remains where on Earth is Gordon going? We know he keeps on blowing and the infrared images from NOAA and NASA have him glowing but the Super Computers have no idea where exactly he is going and the data simply is not showing.

Each year meteorologists are originally baffled by Atlantic Tropical Hurricane Season storms, whether they be Tropical Depressions, Tropical Storms or even full on Hurricanes. Sometimes you have to watch them a bit and watch the surrounding weather patterns begin to interact with them. And whereas that may indeed sound easy, any experienced weather man from NOAA, The National Hurricane Center in Miami, The Weather Channel or even the scientists and research back up team from the Hurricane Hunter USAF Squadron will tell you it is far from easy to predict massive storm systems or large category storms.

Luckily for all of us our technology is nearly twice as good today as it was five years ago and it is getting better every year as research grants and monies are spent to make Hurricane Prediction more of a science than an art. I hope you will consider all this in 2006.

The Truth About Refinancing Student Loans

There are many students and graduates out there that are struggling with paying for their student loans. Often times, these people have heard of refinancing student loans in order to make their payments lower and more manageable. But before you consider refinancing student loans, there are
some things you should first consider. Let this be your guide to the truth about refinancing student loans.

Refinancing student loans often seems like a good idea. In fact, refinancing student loans is a
good idea, if you use it to your advantage. We shall go over that in a minute. First, you need to
know that most student loans are often of a variable percentage rate until the rate is locked
through means of a loan consolidation, or by refinancing the loan. Currently, interest rates are
quite low so it is a good time for refinancing student loans.

Refinancing student loans is only available to students who have always paid their student loan
bill on time. If this does not sound like you, then I wish you good luck trying to refinance your
student loan. Refinancing rates are often offered between one and two percent lower than your
original student loan rate. Most refinancing rates will save you up to 60 percent. But this is where
the drawback is that most people don’t realize when they refinance their student loans.

The drawback is a hidden drawback that most people never really see. I will explain. In order to
get your payment lower through refinancing, you are given a much longer time period to pay the
loan off. Instead of 5 years, it may be 20! This may sound good in the beginning. At the time, it
will leave you with extra money that you may need for other bills. But in reality, it just costs
you more money in the end because you will be paying interest much longer to the lender.

have just refinanced. This way it is cheaper and you will pay it off much quicker than normal.
But only do this if you can afford it. If you refinanced your student loan because you couldn’t
afford the payment, then just pay it off as best you can at your own pace.
